Power output of the starting motor

Does anyone know what is the electric power output of the starting motor - DENSO type - and what is the difference with the newer sratring motor (after 1999).Also, after 1999 (I think)they put a "limiter" in the starter clutch mechanism, how does it work and could it be used in older Savages (like mine '88).
